From Managing People Under Pressure, to Managing Your Business

For thirty-six years I served in the British Army, latterly as Director of People and Operations Manager. Most people picture logistics and command structures when they hear the Army, but my work centred on people. Personnel management, welfare, and planning around real human pressures alongside operational demands. I was responsible for making sure people were looked after, properly organised, and set up to do their jobs well, even when circumstances were far from ideal.

There's a particular kind of pressure that comes from being the person everyone turns to when something needs sorting. You learn to stay calm when others don't. You learn to plan three steps ahead, because reacting after the fact is always more costly. And you learn that the small things, the missed message, the detail nobody thought to check, are usually what causes the biggest problems later.

Leaving that career behind wasn't simple. After thirty-six years, my identity was tied up in being useful in exactly that way, and stepping away meant asking myself a genuinely difficult question: who am I, if not the person holding it together for someone else.

The answer came from an unexpected place. Working alongside founders, consultants and business owners, I noticed the same pattern I'd spent my career solving. Talented, capable people, completely stretched, because they were carrying every operational detail personally, with no one they trusted to share the load.

I started Crosbie Executive Support because I knew I could help. The skills that once kept teams and operations running under real pressure are exactly what your business needs now: someone who manages the people and the process, so you can focus on leading.

Hi, I'm Amanda

I run Crosbie Executive Support, working alongside founders and consultants in health, wellbeing and professional services businesses who've grown to the point where they've become the bottleneck in their own success.

Like you, I care deeply about doing things well and about the people who depend on me. For thirty-six years, that meant supporting leaders in high-pressure environments where nothing could be left to chance. Now it means bringing that same care and discipline to your business.

What Sets Crosbie Executive Support Apart

Built on leadership. Driven by operations. Focused on your success. That's not just a line, it's how I structure my entire business. Unlike high-volume support services, I intentionally work with a limited number of clients at any one time, because the kind of support I offer, personalised, responsive and genuinely detail-focused, isn't possible at scale.

I become a trusted extension of your business, not another supplier completing tasks. Everything I do is built on professionalism, discretion, operational excellence and genuine partnership, so you get a person managing the operational layer behind your work, not a service ticking boxes.

I also carry professional indemnity insurance and I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, so the discretion and care I describe are backed by proper cover and proper data protection.

The heart of Crosbie Executive Support: My values in action

These five values guide every interaction, decision, and solution I provide, ensuring a consistent and reliable partnership for your business.

Integrity

For me, integrity means doing the right thing even when nobody would notice if I didn't. I protect what you share with me, and I never compromise on what I know is right, even under pressure. For you, that means confidential information stays confidential, and decisions get made properly, not conveniently.

Trust

I believe trust is earned, not claimed. It comes from being honest, reliable, and willing to have open conversations, even the difficult ones. For you, that means you can rely on me to tell you the truth, not just what's easiest to hear, and to follow through on what I say I'll do.

Professionalism

Professionalism, to me, means doing every job properly, not just completing it. I bring care and attention to the smallest details, because I know they matter. For you, that means every part of your business I touch gets treated with the same respect and standard you'd apply yourself.

Dependability

I want to be the person you never have to worry about. Someone whose word is solid, whose follow-through is consistent, and who is there when it matters most. For you, that means one less thing on your mind, because you know it's being taken care of properly.

Respect

I listen first, and I make sure I properly understand your business before I try to change anything about it. Respect means working alongside you, not simply for you. For you, that means feeling heard, understood, and genuinely part of the process, not managed from a distance.
